“Cybersecurity in a Downturned Economy”

The ETCSS Committee proudly presents the Fifth Annual East Tennessee CyberSecurity Summit to be held in beautiful downtown Knoxville, Tennessee at the Knoxville-Hilton Hotel on October 20th and 21st, 2009. This years theme centers on cybersecurity in a downturned economy.

The Conference is co-hosted this year by the same sponsors as the last four years, the FBI, UT, Fountainhead College, TVA, TVA-OIG.  InfraGard chapter members, IT professionals in academia, government, law, and private industry from across the region including Atlanta, Nashville, Columbia, and the Raleigh/Durham area, will be attending as well.

An early registration fee of $95 per person will cover conference admission and include:

  • 16 hours of Continuing Professional Education units,

New Features

You’ve spoken in past years and we’ve been listening.  This year we’ve changed the schedule to incorporate some of your requests.  This year we are offering:

  • Two breakout sessions – with limited seating – more information to follow
    • Forensics – data preservation, new forensics-related hardware and software, and best practices in the profession.
    • SANS Session Material – access to SANS class education material
  • A panel wrap up at the end of each day comprised of speakers, field experts, and knowledgeable peers, with ample time to discuss all your tough questions.
  • More break time so you can network and mingle with your peers.

Dynamic Speakers

We are pleased to be able to again present Kevin Mandia from Mandiant and Paul Williams from Grayhat Research.  Bill Dean, with Sword and Shield, joins us again this year with information on the forensics of Intellectual Property Theft.  Ben Feinstein from SecureWorks in Atlanta is joining us to share his expertise as it relates to malware and how to better defend against it.  Speakers from Elavon will be presenting an “autopsy” of a case study to help clarify how an incident is handled from beginning to end.
